The 2nd Hunterdon regiment militia were involved at several important sites during the revolutionary war. The regiment gathered the boats on the Delaware for Lee’s crossing to Valley Forge. Under Bonnell’s leadership, the regiment provided security on the Delaware river from Easton to Trenton. They were in critical positions in the battle of Monmouth, Springfield and Millstone. Regional sites on this map are important for events leading up to and through the years of conflict. Statewide sites are important for the role that Bonnell and the regiment held during those battles.
